Terms of Service

1. The service

LastRedirect ("we", "us") provides a client-side failover script that registers a service worker on your website. When your website becomes unreachable, the service worker redirects returning visitors — those who previously loaded a page with the script installed — to a backup URL you configure. LastRedirect does not proxy, mirror, or route traffic for your site under normal operation.

You download the script and serve it from your own domain; we do not host it on your pages. You are responsible for keeping the file and the integrity hash in your install snippet matched to each other, and for updating both together if you move to a new version.

2. High-traffic websites

The Standard plan assumes typical small-business traffic and rate limits the redirect endpoint per website. If your website receives materially higher traffic than that, use the Enterprise plan, which has no redirect rate limit, or contact us at hello@lastredirect.com before installing so we can arrange a dedicated setup. We may suspend or decline to support high-traffic installations on the Standard plan.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be able to form a binding contract to use LastRedirect. You are responsible for the accuracy of the website and backup URLs you configure, and for keeping your account credentials secure.

4. Subscription and billing

LastRedirect is billed annually on one of two plans: Standard ($49/year, up to 5 websites) or Enterprise ($249.99/year, up to 15 websites, no redirect rate limit). Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. You can cancel anytime from your Subscription page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

5. Your responsibilities

You are solely responsible for the content and availability of your backup URL. LastRedirect does not review, endorse, or guarantee the destination you configure. You agree not to use LastRedirect to redirect visitors to malicious, deceptive, or unlawful content.

6. No guarantee of detection

LastRedirect's failure detection depends on the visitor's browser having previously installed the service worker, still having it registered at the time of failure, and being online. We do not guarantee that every outage will be detected or that every returning visitor will be redirected. In particular:

• Visitors who have never loaded your website with the script installed are never redirected. LastRedirect is a supplement to, not a replacement for, infrastructure-level failover.
• Browsers evict service worker registrations on their own schedule and without notice. WebKit-based browsers, including Safari on iOS, remove script-writable storage after roughly seven days without a first-party interaction, and Chromium-based browsers evict under storage pressure. Once a registration is evicted, no failover occurs for that visitor until they next load your site successfully. We have no control over this behaviour and cannot prevent it.
• Some failure conditions are handled by the browser before any service worker runs and therefore cannot be intercepted at all.
• If your website and LastRedirect's API are unreachable at the same moment and the worker holds no cached configuration, no redirect is issued.

Your website continues to serve normally whether or not LastRedirect is reachable: the service worker requests your origin first on every navigation and does not wait on our service to do so.

7. Disclaimers

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LastRedirect's total liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost revenue or lost visitors.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these terms, including misuse of the redirect mechanism. You may stop using LastRedirect at any time by removing the install script from your site and cancelling your subscription.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or an in-product notice. Continued use of LastRedirect after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
